What is the CFE Credential?

The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. CFEs are trained to identify the warning signs and red flags that indicate evidence of fraud and fraud risk. CFEs around the world help protect the global economy by uncovering fraud and implementing processes to prevent fraud from occurring in the first place.

What steps should I take to begin the process of becoming a CFE?

ACFE membership is open to individuals of all job functions, industries and levels of experience who are interested in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud. Do I have to be a member of the National ACFE to join Charlotte Chapter?

Yes, you must be a member in good standing of the ACFE in order to hold the CFE or Associate level membership of the chapter.  This requirement does not apply to Student or Affiliate/Guest memberships.

Do I have to be a CFE to join the Charlotte Chapter?

No, a member does NOT have to be a CFE to belong to the chapter.  Visit our Become a Member page for details on how to join.

I no longer can attend a Charlotte Area Chapter event for which I have pre-registered and paid. Is the registration fee refundable?

Yes, provided notice of cancellation is received within the cancellation period for the event. No-shows will be unrefundable.

Are membership fees refundable?

Membership dues are paid on a yearly basis. Thus, they may only be refunded if the request is received PRIOR to the start of the next membership year for which you have paid. Please contact [email protected] for assistance.
